‘1000 plus’ project better option for citizens

By purchasing a flat worth €50,000 with a 20-year repayment term, citizens could save up to €15,000 compared to loans offered by banks. Many citizens have to take loans directly offered by banks as they don’t meet requirements of the govt’s ‘1000 plus’ project.

Public call for citizens to apply for purchasing flats via the government’s ‘1000 plus’ project is announced for the second half of June. The fixed interest rate amounts to 2.99%, whereas the same rate for housing loans in banks varies from 5.5% to 6%.

“For a €50.000 loan with a 20-year repayment term, through the ‘1000 plus’ project, a citizen will pay a total of €66,416 (€16,256 of that sum represents interest payment). This means he/she will have to pay €276 a month. Loan processing fee will amount to €150 (0.3%),” the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism told Pobjeda daily.

Marko Čanović, Director General of the Directorate for Housing Development, told Pobjeda the main advantage of this project reflects in the lowest fixed interest rate on the market (2.99%).

He emphasized that citizens are extremely interested in this project, and that all the necessary information about the needed documents, certificates and agreements can be found on the website www.1000plus.me.
