Monteput company, which has been running Sozina tunnel, has generated revenues of €91.25m for 13 years of work, states the executive director of this company, Jonuz Mujević. He says the company has collected revenues from toll tax and renting billboards next to roadways leading to the tunnels Sozina and Raš.
This toll road attracts 14,458 vehicles per day, whereas it sees upwards of cars passing in July and August, which is going to contribute to the company’s great financial result.
“Monteput’s total income for the first 7 months of 2018 amounts to €5.53m and it is by 2% less in comparison with 2017,” Mujević told Pobjeda daily.
Since July 2005, the Sozina tunnel has allowed 29,56 million cars to pass through it. “A total of 1.71 million cars passed through the Sozina tunnel from the beginning of the year, which is by 4.13% less compared to the last year,” said Mujević, adding that proportion of trucks driving through the tunnel has increased (16.28%).
“According to our estimates, there have been 6.68% more cars driving through Sozina in August this year,” concluded Mujević.
