A fine ranging from €700 to €2.000 for disrespecting national anthem

Proposal for the Law on the amendments to the Law on Public Order and Peace envisages that person who intentionally shows disrespect for the national anthem by not standing up, whistling or making noise, shall be imposed a fine ranging from €700 to €2.000.

“A legal entity that displays or uses a flag, a coat of arms or any other state symbol in a public place, shall be imposed a fine ranging from €2.500 to €5.000, unless the flag, coat or arms or any other state symbol are displayed as a symbol of the members of national minorities or other minor national communities or if state symbol is displayed during a sport event”, reads the Proposal for the law.

The enactment stipulates that legal entity that publicly displays inappropriate or deceiving contents that provoke anxiety or frustration of citizens using advertisement or propaganda billboards shall be imposed a fine ranging from €2.500 to €15.000.

Inappropriate or deceiving contents is any content that damages Montenegro’s territorial integrity or adoption of fascist, chauvinistic or Nazi ideologies

An entrepreneur who violates this provision will be imposed a fine ranging from €500 to €5.000.
