Absent MPs to get 50% pay cut

Skupština CG

The Administrative Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro will consider tomorrow the proposal to cut salaries of MPs who do not attend the Parliament’s sessions by 50 per cent.

“This issue is part of the agenda and we will be discussing it,” the Chair of the Committee, Mr Ljuiđ Škrelja, told CdM.

Penal policy for MPs not attending the parliament’s sessions will start to apply as of October 1st.

The Parliament of Montenegro recently passed the amendments to the Rules of Procedures, which stipulate that in case of unjustified absence of MPs from one parliamentary session, 30 per cent will be deducted from their salaries and if they do not attend  parliamentary sessions for two or more times, their salaries will be cut by 50 per cent.
