Sale of the Commercial Bank is a finished story. Slovenian NLB decided to keep the brand. The new bank will be called NLB Commercial Bank. This directly spills over to our country, where expecting another merger of banks would be real.
After CKB-Societe Generale Montenegro merger, Commercial and NLB bank merger is very likely.
In a very short period of time, Montenegro would lose four banks on the market.
President of the Administrative Board of NLB bank, Mr Blažo Brodnjak, said yesterday that NLB in Serbia would keep the brand.
At Kopaonik Business Forum, Mr Brodnjak said that purchase of the Commercial bank was a privilege.
“We are going to keep the Commercial Bank brand, as we are impressed with it”, Mr Brodnjak said.
According to him, Serbia has always been the most attractive market for NLB.
“Plans are afoot for a very serious business with Commercial Bank. We are going to be one of three most important market players”, Mr Brodnjak said.
There are currently 15 banks operating in Montenegro.
