Aprcović: Citizens will have real and stable local government structure

Željko Aprcović

President of the Municipality of Kotor, Mr Željko Aprcović, says that the problem of traffic jams will be addressed in the forthcoming period. He pointed out that many investors were interested in Kotor and added that there’s little time left until local elections. He said they would do their best to make sure citizens had real local government.

Mr Aprcović says that he has been faced with many challenges ever since he started serving the function.

“I was supposed to unblock the town first, that is, to propose the local Parliament to adopt the budget. However, there was no political will for it”, said Mr Aprcović.

Elections in Kotor will be held in 2020.

Mr Aprcović pointed out that construction and reconstruction of hotels would position Kotor high on the tourist map.

“As I understood, reconstruction of Teuta hotel received favorable opinion. We’ll start that project at the end of this year or at the beginning of the next one”, pointed out Mr Aprcović.

The interest in Fjord hotel is huge. As soon as Spatial Planning documents are adopted, reconstruction of Vrmac hotel will be undertaken.

Investors take interest in Bigova Bay

“We expect investments in Bigova Bay and the implementation of that very important project in the next three to four months”, stressed Mr Aprcović.

He says that previous government in Kotor wasn’t willing to agree with the Government about specific provisions.

Mr Aprcović pointed out that Kotor choked on its congestion problem which they had been trying to resolve.

“If you have seven cruisers in one day, it’s clear that pedestrian traffic is a problem too. We will try to resolve this through seven priority contact zone measures. We will reduce congestion. We’ll see how to organize better bus transportation. We’ll put up green fences so that  pedestrians aren’t able to cross the street wherever they want”, said Mr Aprcović.

Culture Center in Risan stimulates the interest of a great number of investors.

“Risan is a destination that should not be neglected”, said Mr Aprcović.
