Army of Montenegro, Ministry of Defense are getting a residential building

Construction of the residential building for the members of the Army of Montenegro and the Ministry of Defense in the Municipality of Danilovgrad, that is going to have 60 apartments, should be finished in autumn next year. The construction works so far are going very well.

This was noted during the visit of Defense Minister, Mr Predrag Bošković, to the construction site, who was accompanied with the President of the Municipality of Danilovgrad, Ms Zorica Kovačević. The Housing Cooperative Defense is performing the construction works.

Minister Bošković told the construction of this building represented one more proof that with joint efforts, the Ministry was resolving some of the issues that existed in it and the Army of Montenegro.

“Several years ago, when we were talking to the trade unions about the main shortcomings of the system and tried to find solutions in order for it to function in the best way possible, one of the main and practically the only real problem was the housing one. Then we together with the representatives of the trade union established the Housing Cooperative Defense and thus started resolving this issue,” Mr Bošković said.

Having in mind the largest army barracks are in the Municipality of Danilovgrad, according to him, “it was logical to choose this location”.

As any other building under construction, Mr Bošković explained, there might come to certain complications. “That is why we engaged geologists and speleologists. We discovered massive caves and had to deal with them, but we managed to do it for a short amount of time.”

He continued: “I’m sure that by the end of the year, we will have roof constructed and during next year, we will start with fine works in order to have the fully-fitted building for those interested to live in the Municipality of Danilovgrad in September 2019 at the latest.”
