Artificial snow to save the season

It was agreed in the yesterday’s meeting of the Initiative board of tourism workers, municipality management and TO Kolašin that competent institutions should consider the possibilities for setting conditions for artificial snowing of ski slopes. They have launched the initiative for snowing ski slopes next season.

Due to the absence of snow in Bjelasica, results of the winter tourism season will be below expectations.

First man of Kolašin, Mr Milosav Bato Bulatović, said that they were aware that lack of snow had jeopardized tourism economy.

“However, we’ll consider the possibilities for improving the economy. We’ll launch an initiative on building the system for artificial snowing in Kolašin 1600 ski center. We are about to hold a meeting with the representatives of state institutions in order to speed the commencement of works”, said Mr Bulatović.

Tourism workers in Kolašin already see this season as disastrous.

“Artificial snow is the only salvation”, said Mr Ljubiša Rakočević, owner of private accommodation.

Systems for artificial snowing should go in step with the construction of slopes.

It was pointed out that artificial snowing was a very expensive and complex process, but should be initiated as soon as possible.

Mr Boško Mirović, the hospitality worker, insisted on considering the possibilities for providing certain reliefs for tourism workers.

Director of Local TO, Mr Aleksandar Vlahović, reiterated his view. He said that only artificial snow could save the winter season offer.
