The Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs has requested building permits for Subsection 4.1 of the Bar-Boljare highway priority section. There will be six bridges constructed on the subsection: Uvac1, UIvac2, Uvac3, Uvac4, Pajkov Vir and Cestzogaz, Dnevne Novine reports.
Upon obtaining the permits China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) will also begin construction of the Vitanovica, Zecka, and Pajkov Vir tunnels. In addition to the bridges and tunnels, an open segment of the highway will also be constructed.
Last week the ministry sought permit for Subsection 4.4.1.
On this section, the Tara 1 and Tara 2 tunnels as well as the Matesevo tunnel and the Matesevo highway loop will be built along with the associated open segment.
Dnevne Novine has learned that the Ministry of Sustainable Development plans to expedite the permit procedure which will significantly raise the pace of works on the Smokovac-Uvac-Matesevo priority section.
For the time being, 12 permits have been issued for the priority section. All necessary permits are to be issued by the mid-June, transport minister Osman Nurkovic has recently said.
Currently, 1.820 workers have been hired for the project. Of these, 615 are from Montenegro. According to the ministry’s expectations, about €194m out of possible €200m will be spent on the first highway section this year.
