Bečić on burning incense in the municipality of Budva: I would never do that, I advocate for civil state

Commenting on the fact that priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church burned incense in the building of the municipality of Budva to bless it  following the appointment of Mr Marko Carević as president of that municipality, Mr Aleksa Bečić said he would never do that.

“I would never do that because I advocate for the principles of secular state, respect for the Constitution of Montenegro, respect for civil Montenegro where we are all equal as brothers. I oppose any form of generalization or discrimination, and therefore, I would never act in that way”, Mr Bečić said.

In the interview for TVCG, Mr Bečić said that he hadn’t attended the meeting of the leaders of the three coalitions in Ostrog monastery. He said that it “was an informal meeting”.

“As far as I know, the subject of their talks was improvement of some interpersonal relations”, Mr Bečić said.
