Bečić – Parcos: Greece will continue to support Montenegro on its EU path

President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Aleksa Bečić, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Greece to Montenegro, Mr Panajotis Parcos.

Mr Bečić expressed his gratitude for the continuous support from Greece and satisfaction with opening the first honorary consulate of MNE in Greece in Thessaloniki.

Mr Parcos congratulated Mr Bečić on his appointment and said he expected Montenegro to continue to pursue its European path.

He added that Montenegro deserved to be in the society of the European system of values and that Greece would continue to support in that context.

“Mr Parcos touched on recently held elections and praised the environment in which they were held. He stressed that democracy was a dynamic process and that everybody could contribute to the overall good. He handed Mr Bečić a congratulatory letter from the president of the Greek parliament, Mr Konstantinos Tasoulas”, the statement said.

Mr Bečić and Mr Parcos said that Greece’s support for the integration process was very important.

They agreed that parliamentary cooperation at the highest level could significantly contribute to strengthening political, economic and social ties.

Mr Bečić acquainted the ambassador with key priorities of the new parliament referring to the judicial reform and comprehensive reform of electoral legislation.
