Bosniak Party became a member of European People’s Party

At today’s Political Assembly of the European People’s Party (EPP) held in the European Parliament, it was decided that the Bosniak Party (BS) would become a member of the EPP – the strongest political force at the EU level.

On this occasion, officials of the Bosniak Party, Vice-President Mr Osman Nurković, Political Director Mr Suljo Mustafić, President of the Youth Forum and a member of the Executive Board for the International Cooperation, Mr Sead Šahman, and a representative of the Women’s Forum, Ms Bilsana Bibić, had a range of meetings with the EPP’s high-ranking officials, primarily with the Chair Mr Joseph Daul, Vice-Chair Mr Paulo Rangel and EU Commissioner Mr Johannes Hahn.

On the 2nd day of the session, the Bosniak Party presented their program principles to other members of the EPP. Mr Nurković used the opportunity to emphasize that the BS represented a state-oriented, pro-European and pro-Western party ever since it was established.

He continued: “Strong and independent institutions, rule of law, fight against corruption and crime, respecting human rights and anti-discrimination, freedom of media, ensuring safety for all citizens, regional stability and networking, as well as the integration of the whole region – those were and still remain our topmost priorities.”

It was noted that the Bosniak Party might get a good perspective in terms of its political activities, that is, it might get a strong support from the European addresses, which is significant for further development of the party and the democratic development of MNE and the region as well.
