Carević: There will be no coalition with DPS

Political disagreement between the coalition partners in Budva – the Democrats and the Democratic Front (DF) – is still ongoing. The Democrats accuse Budva’s mayor, Mr Marko Carević, of making secret plans with the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), while he, on the other side, wants them to stop inventing stories.

Mr Dragan Krapović, the leader of Budva Democrats, says there’s no reason to hide the fact that DPS and DF finally should set up a coalition and start exercising power in Budva. And this is not the first time the Democrats are accusing DF and DPS of making deals in Budva.

However, the President of the Municipality of Budva, Mr Marko Bato Carević, in an interview with CdM firmly rejects the accusations, adding that they are not true at all. In his opinion, the Democrats are continuously repeating the same story that is not true!

“Everything we do is in the best interest of Budva residents and what we promised to them. The Democrats are trying to conceal their past, their omissions,” Mr Carević clarified for CdM.

He continued: “They are afraid now. They didn’t expect to see that Budva functions well despite their obstruction.”

The Democrats, on the other hand, see this whole thing in a completely different way.

Mr Mijomir Pejović of the Democrats told CdM that his party has always and will always act in the best interest of citizens who want to preserve the only remaining green area on Slovenska beach.

When asked whether the ongoing disagreement between the two parties can affect the functioning of the coalition in Budva, Mr Pejović was adamant – if the DF wants to cooperate with the DPS, then everything’s clear and the DF should answer to this question.
