The National Transplant Coordinator in Croatia, Mirela Bušić, in an interview with Pobjeda daily, told that it’s necessary to build people’s trust in the healthcare system in order to raise their awareness on significance of organ donation.

And in order to affect their opinion regarding transplantation, especially about the cadaveric one, it’s important people to know that anyone can be a donor and recipient of an organ. In this way, we raise an individual’s awareness towards the society.

When making the decision on donating an organ, the key aspect is a citizen’s trust in the national healthcare system and staff as well, and Montenegro has made considerable progress in kidney transplant, but should seek for models of international cooperation when it comes to transplantation of other organs, concluded Bušić.
