Construction of the wind farm in Brajići will start in June or July next year, said Mr Golub Senić, CEO of the company Wind Farm Budva.

WPD Brajići Consortium was the only one to submit correct and acceptable bid for the construction of a wind park, offering €101,3 million.

“In the next two weeks, we will officially sign agreement on the lease of land. In June if June next year, works are expected to start”, said Mr Senić.

Deadline for the completion of works is three years from the day agreement with the Government is signed.

“We are going to do our best to finish this project as soon as possible”, pointed out Mr Senić.

CEO of the company from Podgorica says that the conceptual project is in the preparation phase. Wind farm construction project envisages €22 million of national companies’ share.

Consortium offered 235.462 square meters for the construction of a wind farm, with around 20.000 square meters on private ownership. Mr Senić adds that they will have to settle property relations with private entities as soon as the agreement with the Ministry is signed.

“Hopefully, we’ll manage to reach an agreement with the owners. We will then hold consultations on the land lease agreement. If we fail to make a deal, it will be up to the state to settle it”, said Mr Senić.

He said that the project would involve more than 200 people. The consortium will pay €16,5 million to the state for 30 years of land lease, which is around €550.000 annually.

Mr Senić holds that constriction of the new wind farm won’t have impact on the electricity bills.

“We have no subventions, assistance or loans. Investor carries all the risk. We guarantee the execution of works, maintenance and environment protection. There are no negative effects on the citizens and environment”, said Mr Senić.

According to him, future of the electricity production lies in clean energy and Montenegro has capacity to fulfill its needs.
