Covid-19 news: 57 new cases confirmed in Montenegro

The Public Health Institute stated today that another 57 persons have tested positive for Covid-19. The largest number was registered in Bijelo Polje – 25 confirmed cases. According to latest data, Montenegro now has 63 active cases per 100.000 people.

“Over the past 24 hours, labs of the Public Health Institute carried out PCR analysis of 548 samples, testing for the novel coronavirus and 57 were positive. Covid-19 patients come from Bijelo Polje (25), Podgorica (19), pljevlja (6), Rožaje (2), Herceg Novi (2), Bar (1), Cetinje (1) and Nikšić (1),” the Institute announced.

Of this number, 35 were in close contact with someone already infected with the virus, while the source of infection in 21 persons has still been unknown. There is one new imported case as well.

Therefore, Montenegro currently records 396 coronavirus cases and 4 deaths, while there are 392 active cases.
