Data shows €1,15 billion in tourism receipts

State secretary in the Ministry of Sustainable development and Tourism, Mr Damir Davidović, said that direct and indirect revenues from tourism this year would reach between €1,1 billion and €1,15 billion. Mr Davidović pointed out that available data was very encouraging.

“If we take a look at the data and comparative indicators, I can tell you I’m very optimistic. I believe that, this year, we are going to have nearly 2,5 million tourists and over 14 million overnights”, said Mr Davidović.

He added that he expected another 1,25 million guests by the end of year.

“Financial data slightly falls behind the statistics, but he latest data reveals a total growth of 13% rate. I expect direct and indirect revenues to be between €1,1 billion and €1,15 billion”, explained Mr Davidović.

According to the preliminary data, number of tourists and overnights in collective and private accommodation has increased by 23,7% and 17,1% respectively.
