“The question of the joint participation of the opposition coalition from 30 August 2020 in the Podgorica elections is certain. We are a millimeter away from that goal, and I would consider it a great success”, says the President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, in Gradska TV’s Aritmija program, authored by Tamara Nikcevic.
“We will see whether the previous checks will lead us to the optimality of such a formula for the parliamentary elections, but believe me, the most important thing is that through the conversations I have internally – let’s call it the opposition coalition from 30 August, that is, the coalition that consists of 40 councilors, with each individually, I see that there is that awareness that you insist on”, President Djukanovic has pointed out.
You can notice, he adds, that that block is being constituted. Whether it will be formalized as a pre-election coalition or not will depend on many factors, says President Djukanovic.
The issue, he believes, is complex.
“You cannot approach it emotionally. We have to invite people, which I have done five times today – let’s stay away from our particularly bad emotions, let’s think in our own interest, and it seems to me that you are already noticing a new quality of relations within that political bloc”, President Djukanovic has concluded.
