“I wouldn’t say that Montenegro was at any point in recent history in doubt. It should be taken into account that Russia has very thoughtful expectations about Russian sentiments in our region. We were absolutely open, we were a country of transition and we were open to the interests of everyone who are interested in working with us, so that part of the interest was found by Russian investments, but not to the extent presented to the international public,” he said.

Speaking about the politics, Mr Djukanovic added, even before independence, we were persistently repeating that we wanted the restoration of independence in order to be able to manage our future, which will be European.
