Djukanovic: There are two options we prefer – elections or political government

Milo Đukanović

President of Montenegro and the Leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, Milo Djukanovic, said that there were two ways for getting out of the current political crisis – elections or a political government.

“There are two options: first scenario includes elections. Everything else would lead to the stories about political corruption and betrayal of the electoral will of citizens. The second option is to have a political government,” the President told reporters following the Balkan Integration Forum.

He also added that it’d be smarter to consider the formation of a political government with a full tenure.

“The DPS’ views on the minority government are not the same as 15 months ago,” Mr Djukanovic said.

“Today we’re more careful, we’re in contact with partners, we have two solutions that we prefer more than the minority government, but I don’t want to talk about it now,” emphasised President Djukanovic, adding that everything is better than the current situation.
