Djukanovic to descendants of Montenegrin emigrants: Montenegro is your home

Although we do not give up our tradition, we are committed to the Europeanisation of the Montenegrin society and raising the quality of life of our citizens, with the aim of returning Montenegro to its European home. Being a NATO member state and a leader in the European integration process, Montenegro needs credible investors who will enrich it with their knowledge and new standards, Montenegro’s President Milo Djukanovic said during a working lunch he arranged for a group of businessmen from South America, descendants of Montenegrin emigrants.

The President welcomed them, stressing that the interest of the State is to preserve communication with its emigrants so that they can feel like home.

Mr Djukanovic voiced satisfaction with the interest of the business community run by one of the most successful descendants of the Montenegrin emigrants in Latin America, Mr Federico Tomasevich, who had done a lot to animate members of the Montenegrin community for potential investment in our country.

The owner of the largest bank in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, Mr Federico Tomasevich, expressed gratitude to President Djukanovic for reviving contact with the Montenegrin diaspora in his country, as well as for the devoted attention during the visit. He evaluated this visit as very significant, as they returned to the country where their grandparents were born, and which is far better today than it used to be.
