In a statement for Al Jazeera Balkans, a professor at the Faculty of Economy, Gordana Djurovic, commented on the announced Marshall Plan – Europe Now and said that they were quite surprised to hear about it.
“We know very well what the Marshall Plan is – the European Recovery Program following World War II – we know about the slogan ‘Europe Now’ – Slovenia ahead of accession – so when you merge them, we’re wondering what the Marshall is in our concrete case? We knew what it meant in 1948, but today, we have no idea about it,” she pointed out.
According to her, it’s a “populism this same government gave up on in the first half of the year”, Ms Djurovic emphasized.
