Đukanović: Investors from the UAE interested in the Port, tourism, food production…

Investors from the UAE are interested in the Port in Bar, tourism, food production, said Montenegro’s president, Mr Milo Đukanović, after his official visit to this country.

Mr Đukanović said that relations between Montenegro and the UEA were an example of relations that had developed to an exceptional level.

“The important fact is that the Emirates were our connection to the Near East and the bay, where Montenegro positioned itself as an actor of global foreign policy. Meetings with the UAE representatives were always an opportunity to exchange experience and views. As NATO member, Montenegro is a contributor to that we call global stability and that was the second line of cooperation with the UAE”, said President.

The most important part of Montenegro-UAE relations is economic cooperation, based on strong investment activities from the companies in the UAE.

“We have four huge and a lot of minor investors. Our experience with great investors is very positive and that’s the reason why we discussed possibilities for the improvement of economic cooperation. Investors’ interest in the Port is a special topic”, said Mr Đukanović.

For Montenegro, Port in Bar is a very important infrastructure facility which should enable dynamic development and provide high-quality connection between our country and the world.

“As far as the area of tourism is concerned, there are several interesting locations at the coast and in the mountains, where investors from the Emirates would be willing to invest”, Mr Đukanović said.

Food production, according to Mr Đukanović, is an imperative of Montenegro’s future development.

“Every new hotel and every new resort is a food consumer. Now, the question is if we are going to import food to satisfy the needs, or we are going to use agriculture areas in Montenegro for the purposes of food production and stimulate export. Investors from the UAE, find this very interesting”, said Mr Đukanović.
