Duković: DUA and BP are flighty

Halil Duković

Changing the date that united us all, the day of the liberation of Tuzi, was a big mistake, said Mr Halil Duković, president of the Municipal board and a member of DPS in the Municipal Assembly of Tuzi.

Councilors of the Albanian Forum, Bosniak Party and Democrats voted the statute of the Municipality of Tuzi according to which 1st September is celebrated as the Day of the Municipality of Tuzi. So far, it’s been 15 December. The new date has been set in remembrance of the declaration of independence of the municipality, whereas 15 December represents date when the municipality was liberated in World War II.

“15 December is a liberation day, celebrated in the whole world. All the heritage of the People’s Liberation War is fading into oblivion”, says Mr Duković.

In Mr Duković’s opinion, former coalition partners from DUA and Bosniak Party have no political continuity and values they advocate for.

“They are flighty parties. They don’t stick to their views. Members of BP said they wouldn’t allow changing the date, and them in the meeting, they voted for it. The government is obviously blackmailing small coalition partners”, said Mr Duković.

He doesn’t want to comment on the reasons why the new government opposes 15 December, but one of the reasons is that they mind everything that was celebrated by DPS.

“The fact that speaks in favor of the lack of seriousness in functioning of our municipality is that everyone who comes to power is given the possibility to change dates. It shouldn’t be practice. Once set, date can’t be changed, no matter who is in power”, pointed out Mr Duković.
