EBRD Office in Montenegro: Open doors for more intense cooperation

Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Mr Radoje Žugić, met today with the head of the EBRD office in Montenegro, Mr Jap Sprej. Mr sprej pointed out that EBRD had a considerable demand for the Solidarity package amounting to €1 billion to support economies under pressure due to coronavirus epidemic.

He reminded that the initial package, approved by EBRD shareholders on 13 March, was intended for the immediate needs for working capital and liquidity.

“Extension of solidarity package is expected soon. That opens doors for even more intense cooperation between  EBRD and participants on the financial market. Mr Žugić pointed out that EBRD had high-quality cooperation with our banking sector and micro-credit institutions and expressed hope that EBRD would meet increased demands for accessible credit lines”, the statement said.
