Economic cooperation between Podgorica and Ankara will be increased

Podgorica and Ankara now have all conditions to create successful and effective cooperation particularly in the field of construction, tourism and agriculture. This conclusion was drawn during the meeting between the delegation of Podgorica, headed by the Mayor, Ivan Vuković, and the management of the marketing board of the capital of Turkey.

The Mayor pointed out that fact that many big Turkish companies operated in Montenegro.

“Our objective is to attract even more Turkish investors on one side and to create more open space for the activities of our companies that are more export-oriented on the other”, said the Mayor.

With the aim of attracting as many investors as possible, the Capital is investing in numerous infrastructure projects such as construction of the traffic ring around Podgorica.

The mayor also presented the project of the construction of wastewater treatment plant, as well as projects of the construction of plants for solar energy, production of electricity from bio-gas and reconstruction of public lighting through the installation of new LED technology.

Vice-President of the executive board of the Chamber of Commerce of Ankara, Temel Aktaj, agreed with Vuković that import and export between Podgorica and Ankara must increase.

“The Chamber will recommend our investors to invest in the construction of the hotel in Podgorica. We have done a lot in the construction of road infrastructure. Ankara is a very successful city,that made significant progress in agriculture, especially in the production of organic products and in stock-farming and these are also the areas where we can enhance our cooperation. You can count on us any time”, said Aktaj.
