Ex-president Vujanović got 9 bodyguards

Ex-president of Montenegro Filip Vujanović got bodyguard protection as the government still believes his safety is at stake. Even though his term of office expired more than 4 months ago, he got bodyguards by virtue of office for 3 months more, and this period might be extended in case the govt assesses there’s a high risk of attack, writes Dan daily.

Based on this, the government extended the period over which Vujanović will have a bodyguard team, consisting of 9 police officers. However, practice has shown that a person can ask for reduction of the number of bodyguards but the police is not allowed to publicly reveal this.

In accordance with the job scheme of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, MUP, Vujanović’s security team has 9 officers, one of whom is an independent police inspector performing the most complex professional affairs, based on the detailed guidelines from the immediate manager. Other 8 police officers perform other operational tasks which require professionalism and independence at work.
