EU and Council of Europe expert mission on media freedom will stay in Montenegro starting today.
The introductory meeting of the expert mission will be held tomorrow. It will be opened by Minister of EU Affairs Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic, chief of EU Delegation in Podgorica Aivo Orav and chief of cooperation unit, department for media and internet in general directorate for human rights and rule of law of the Council of Europe Lejla Dervisagic.
Expert mission was organized within joint project of EU and Council of Europe – Strengthening legal expertise on freedom of speech and media in Southeastern Europe JUFREX.
Ministry of EU Affairs said that the experts would talk with representatives of Montenegrin institutions, media, operators, regulators, NGOs and academic community on the subjects of legal framework of media policies and their implementation, authorship, state aid, development mechanisms and support to the media, public service, journalistic integrity, self-regulation and media literacy.
