Focus on improving private sector, small and medium enterprises

Improving private sector competitiveness, energy and infrastructure integration, as well as greening the economy and sustainable tourism, represent three priority areas in which the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EBRD, wants to help Montenegro, Montenegrin Prime Minister, Duško Marković, and First EBRD Vice-President, Jurgen Rigterink, agreed at today’s meeting.

Marković stressed that EBRD recognized the priorities of the State which allows further productive partnership.

PM Marković said: “EBRD support for around 60 projects totaling to nearly EUR 570 million is of great importance to us. Your support and confidence contributed to our economic results.”

He added that the continuation of strengthening the overall infrastructure, construction of the motorway, airports and ports valorisation, as well as further activities on strengthening competitiveness and creating favorable business environment, strengthening of small and medium companies and professionalization of administration are of strategic significance for Montenegro.
