Milica Lekić

The Fund for quality and talents was established last year and it represents the most comprehensive process of rewarding the best students and pupils in Montenegro. The rewards will vary from EUR 500 to 2,000, Milica Lekić, a spokeswoman of this Ministry of Education’s department, told Pobjeda daily.

She called in mind that the awards ceremony will be fully transparent and that the announcement will last by 20 October, while the final decision on remunerations will be made by the end of November.

She said: “The Fund will provide almost 500 remunerations, of which 200 will go to the teachers, 200 to pupils and around 70 pupils will be awarded by default as those would be children who received state and international awards for their knowledge in competitions organized by the Examination Centre of Montenegro.”

The Commission in charge of evaluating received applications will consist of 12 members, 4 of whom will be the representatives of the Ministry of Education. Other Commission members will be representatives of the Parents’ Association, Trade Union, professional associations, as well as the president of the Union of High School Students, two directors of schools, and the representatives of educational institutions, such as: the Education Office, Centre for Professional Development, the Examination Centre and the Ministry of Education.

The President of the Commission will be the representative of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU), Ljubiša Stanković.
