Galic: School year to start on 1 Sept.

Igor Galić

Speaking in a TV show ‘Boje jutra’ (eng. Morning Colors) on Vijesti TV, head of the Public Health Institute, IJZ, Igor Galic, says that the epidemiological situation is becoming more complicated and if we want less infections, people need to be vaccinated and adhere to the measures.

He also says that the IJZ recommends that the children in schools should wear face masks in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

“We proposed that children should wear face coverings in schools because in that we they preserve their own health and the health of the population. We agreed that the new school year should start on 1 September.”

Mr Galic also notes that the virus has been spreading at an alarming rate, but they monitor the situation every day and propose measures to the competent bodies, which can approve or disapprove of them.
