Presentation of the new government at noon
Press conference of Mr Zdravko Krivokapić was announced for today at noon. He will present composition of the new government and talk about priorities. Voting in the Parliament is scheduled for next Wednesday.
Professor Đorđije Blažić has reminded of systemic mistakes within Montenegrin politival system and expressed concern that expert government won’t work.
Mr Milan Knežević stated almost the same thing last night only in different words. He said that this government “is not expert, it’s a coalition of URA and Mr Krivokapić’s NGO”.
Two vacancies in the security sector will be filled by two former politicians. As CdM finds out, minister of interior will be Mr Sergej Sekulović, who has been politically active in the Movement for Changes until recently. The second position will be taken by someone who dealt with politics as well – entrepreneur Goran Đurović, director of Cerovo Company, former functionary of Positive Montenegro. It’s not secret that these proposals were put forward by URA as these people are of civil political affiliations.
Petition against the new government was has been signed by 150 cultural workers from Montenegro, expressing concern over “unprecedented chauvinism, language of hatred, denial of traditional, cultural and national specificity of Montenegrins…”
(Dis)Agreement
Dan has published that the agreement has been prepared, or to be more precise, annex to the agreement between leaders of the new government which envisages adoption of a set of reform laws as well as plan for the recovery of consequences of the pandemic etc. The news immediately provoked reaction of Democrats who have claimed that this agreement has been proposed without their participation. The statement reveals many frustrations of this party about Mr Krivokapić’s chaotic behavior.
Brčvak did not offer millions
Mr Hajriz Brčvak denied claims made by Miodrag Daka Davidović that he offered €21 million to Mr Dritan Abazović. He said he “is not interested in politics” and that his only interest “is to help”. URA representatives confirmed that there had been such offers. Money offers for political service are considered criminal offence and somebody should react in relation to this matter.
Prince and Twitter
Prince Filip Krađorđević is very active on Twitter and he doesn’t hesitate to express his political views on this platform. However, it is interesting that he mentions Montenegro and the story about the chapel on Lovćen, which was built by his great-grandfather and which future ministers want to renew.
New American administration and Montenegro
Mr Reuf Bajrović, co-chairman of the American-European alliance, thinks that Biden’s administration comes a little late but that it might still have a positive impact on Montenegro and maybe even relieve the damage that has been done. Reuf expresses concern over the fact that minorities don’t participate in the new government.
And with this, we finish this week. Until Monday. Have a nice weekend.
