Government adopted plan: No construction on Solana and Valdanos

Construction of lodgings will not be allowed either in the ​​Ulcinj Solana area or the Valdanos bay, the government decided at the cabinet meeting held on Thursday.

In fact, the government adopted Spatial Plan of the Municipality of Ulcinj, a strategic document the development of which began in 2009. The plan stipulates that Solana shall be a protected area in the natural park category.

The government concluded that the priority of the Solana area development is rehabilitation and modernisation of the salt plant, development of facilities related to health care and the use of medicinal mud, the development of scientific and educational tourism in the field of ornithology and organising trekking tours and sport and recreation activities.

Also, constructing sports grounds and other sport-related facilities has been planned on Valdanos, with full preservation of olive groves.

The plan also includes refurbishing the area along the existing road from the Mala Plaza beach to Port Milena, urban reconstruction of city centre in Ulcinj and directing city development towards new administrative-business centres.

It also includes the revitalisation of the Old Town of Ulcinj, Carsija and Pristan, as well as the protection of their historical and environmental nature.

On the other hand, sites Velika Plaza, Ada Bojana, and Mavrijan are planned for tourism development. Construction of luxury tourist facilities of significant capacity, as well as amenities for sport and recreation are planned there.

Ada Bojana

A four lane road will be built in the Stoj area, then the bridge over the Bojana river which will connect Montenegro and Albania, as well as sports and recreation airport in Gornji Stoj, with a 760 metre long grass runway.

According to plan, a centralised facility for waste water treatment with tertiary purification system will be built at the Ulcinjsko Polje site. It means that treated water will be discharged in the Port Milena.
