Heads of states congratulated on Montenegro’s Statehood Day

President of France, Mr Emmanuel Macron and Bulgarian leader, Mr Rumen Radev congratulated President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović, on the occasion of celebrating Statehood Day of Montenegro.

“On behalf of France and on my own behalf I would like to give you my congratulations on the occasion of the celebration of the national holiday in Montenegro. Friendly relationship between our countries, allies within NATO, lead us to joint action in the service of security and stability of our continent. Following the French strategy for the Western Balkans, that I presented on 29 April at this year’s Summit in Berlin, France is re-engaging in the Balkans, with the aim of contributing to stability, economic and social development and rule of law. In that context, our bilateral relations have to be enhanced further. France endorses Montenegro’s European perspective. As you know, membership negotiations are demanding. You can count on our full support in meeting the membership criteria”, reads Macron’s greeting card.

Mr Radev says that stable relations between countries and nations are the basis of his deeply held belief that future cooperation will improve, in a spirit if friendship and goodwill.

“Montenegro is making visible progress in its integration endeavors and I would like to assure you that the Republic of Bulgaria, as honest fiend of your country, will continue supporting and assisting you. Your country has proven that Euro-Atlantic membership was a success for the entire region. I am convinced that our countries will enrich their bilateral relations in a spirit of Euro-Atlantic and European values”, added Mr Radev.

President of Romania, Mr Klaus Werner Iohannis, also congratulated Mr Đukanović on the Statehood day.

“As member state committed to enlargement policy, Romania will keep supporting Montenegro’s European course and I believe that your country will keep acting constructively in the integration process. In the current regional context, NATO membership and compliance with the EU priorities make you a credible partner committed to democratic values and European development”, pointed out Mr Iohannis.

President of India, Mr Ram Nath Kovinda, also extended his congratulations.

“India and Montenegro cherish close and friendly relations which were further strengthened this year by appointing ambassador of Montenegro to India. I firmly believe that our cooperation will be increasing, to mutual benefit of both countries”, said Mr Kovinda.

Leaders of Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Cyprus, San Marino, Armenia, Bangladesh, Morocco, Kuwait, Mongolia and many other countries congratulated Montenegrin Statehood Day.
