High Court in Podgorica rejected the proposal of the Special Prosecutor’s Office to take away the apartment of the former Vice President of DPS, Svetozar Marović. By means of the same decision, the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for blocking the possibility to dispose of the house Marović family had sold to their friend, Radojica Krstović, was granted.
This procedure came after the Special Prosecutor’s Office instigated financial investigation against Marović because of the suspicion that he was the leader of criminal organization, gained money by performing illegal activities and then used that money for buying real estate.
However, Marović managed to sell this apartment for 180.000 EUR, in July last year. Marović’s lawyers claim that the request for confiscation of the apartment is groundless since that real estate was gained in 1992, before he committed the crime he is guilty of.
