Our goal is to keep all our promises and I think the residents of Žabljak are aware of that. The best proof are numerous construction sites in Žabljak, as well as realized projects, said Veselin Vukićević, the president of Žabljak Municipality, who can’t wait for the upcoming year to come.

“During summer, the occupancy rate of all our hotels exceeded our expectations, as around 60,000 tourists visited Žabljak, along with 130,000 overnight stays. Thanks to the development of various types of active tourism, such as biking, hiking, mountaineering, kayaking and rafting, our municipality is gradually becoming an extremely attractive tourist destination,” noted Vukićević in an interview with Večernje Novosti.

As for the winter months, he added, Žabljak expects considerable increase in arrivals. “In order to be able to compete with other destinations, we are investing in the infrastructure, which we manage to do thanks to the generous support of the state.”

“New hotel capacities will contribute to enhancing our tourism offer. The construction works of 3 new private hotels are underway. A restaurant in the vicinity of the gorgeous Blake Lake also started with its functioning this year.”

Mayor Vukićević proudly emphasized that Montenegro managed to attract a renowned tourism brand “Aman” which is to construct a 5-star hotel in Žabljak instead of the iconic Hotel Durmitor, adding that the value of this investment exceeds EUR 20 mil.
