Ibrahimović: We won’t make alliance with those who are up to no good

Ervin Ibrahimović

Ervin Ibrahimović, the Bosniak Party parliamentary candidate in the forthcoming elections, in an interview for Dan daily, said he was going to work on making conditions for the economic growth and the development of the country, as well as on decreased foreign-trade deficit, new jobs and reduced socials differences.

On the results of the forthcoming elections and his expectations, Mr Ibrahimović said: “All our previous efforts towards Montenegro’s development, improvement of the standard of living, as well as our long-term commitment to make Bosniaks equal with other nations, represent good preconditions to enter the election race with realistic expectations that we will certainly improve the election result. I do believe that we have conducted the right policy, both internally and externally, respecting the fact that Montenegro is a civil state and that the foreign policy goals of the state of Montenegro are consistent with our program goals. ”

Speaking about key messages of the Bosniak Party ahead of the elections, he told: “We believe that we have set realistic program goals in order to eliminate the consequences caused by the coronavirus as soon as possible and enable the overall development of our country. The Bosniak Party will be an important factor in the executive power. Soon after the elections, in order to start overcoming the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on our economy, we will continue with large infrastructure projects, especially in the north of our country. We have designed a quality valorization of generous potentials in the field of energy, tourism and agriculture and we strengthened production, especially the processing industry. We will constantly back the entrepreneurial initiative and the strengthening of small and medium-sized businesses. We will commit to improving the policy of collecting tax claims. Bring the informal economy to the lowest possible level. Launch many other initiatives that will create conditions for economic growth and development of our country, reduce the foreign trade deficit, create new jobs and reduce social disparities, and thus reduce the trend of emigration from the north.”

When asked to tell about the postelection alliance and whether they are going to make it with the Democratic Party of Socialists, Mr Ibrahimović noted: “Our party will advocate for a new executive power comprising broader coalition, i.e. all progressive forces. All political parties that truly and not declaratively stand for an independent, multiethnic, multi-religious and anti-fascist state, with a clearly defined foreign policy, strengthening our role in the NATO alliance and the defined goal of being a member of the EU by 2024. Because only in this way can we create a prosperous society, which will respond to all potential challenges.”
