The Investment and Development Fund, IRF, received 430 lending requests in a week, 130 of which are in the process of decision-making and for 12 the decision has already been made, president of the Board of Directors of IRF, Mr Zoran Vukčević, told Radio Montenegro. The largest number of lending requests, according to him, was sent by small and micro enterprises, asking to borrow 10, 20 and 30 thousand euro.

“We are about to decide upon more requests as we’ll be working during weekend,” Mr Vukčević said.

As of last week, the IRF liquidity loans have been available to businesses as part of a package of economic measures to tackle the coronavirus crisis. Money can be spent on purchasing products, raw materials, paying lease and wages.

Many are interested in the IRF offer, but the focus is on small, micro and medium-sized enterprises.

“They generally ask for 10 thousand, 20 thousand or 30 thousand euro. There were some requests for a maximum amount, which is limited to three million, but we must show humanity, responsibility and give priority to those who really need funds in the current business environment,” Mr Vukčević noted.

He reiterated that IRF’s loans cannot be used for repaying a loan in commercial banks.
