Lenac was killed at the Bokelj football club’s stadium, on 16 September at about 5.25pm.

The perpetrator was not masked and watched Lenac from the spectator stands. Lenac was working out with a friend.

As Dnevne Novine earlier reported, there were several more people on the pitch. The executor was patiently waiting for other people to go away. Then he came down from the stands and started running, as if he was working out as well. Therefore, Lenac could notice no indications of an immediate danger. The perpetrator approached Lenac while he was doing push-ups and fired two shots into his head.

Then he escaped through the stadium exit. Then he fired several more shots in the air, possibly intending to scare the possible eyewitnesses.
