Podgorica unlikely to avoid tighter coronavirus restrictions, schools and kindergartens in five municipalities to close again

Boban Mugoša

Head of the Public Health Institute, Mr Boban Mugoša, has stated that Podgorica is unlikely to avoid being put under additional restrictions for at least 15 days to stop the virus spreading, but still – they are waiting for the results from Germany. He reminds that the Public Health Institute informed earlier today the public that the epidemiological situation in Budva, Ulcinj, Cetinje, Kolašin and Žabljak got worse, which means that schools and kindergartens in those municipalities will be closed as of Monday. Teaching and learning will be online, based on the traffic light system introduced by the Ministry of Education.

Covid-19 infection rate in these municipalities is above 800 per 100K inhabitants, thus placing them under “Group 3” – municipalities which will be put under tougher restrictions as of Monday for the next 14 days.

“The cumulative incidence in Podgorica is currently 792.7 per 100.000 inhabitants, and the decision on imposing tighter restrictions in the capital will be made after statistical processing of all samples sent to Germany,” Mr Mugoša told TV Vijesti speaking in a show titled ‘News at 6.30pm’.
