Mandic prevented from going to Serbia

Democratic Front (DF) leader Andrija Mandic has not travelled to Novi Sad, where he was supposed to attend the ceremony of marking 22nd anniversary of the suffering of Serbs in the Croatian military operation Storm, at the invitation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

On this occasion, New Serb Democracy (NOVA) stated that this act was a message to Serbs.

“The Montenegrin regime and its marionettes in the judiciary openly show hatred towards Serbs. It has been shown once again by the decision to prevent the NOVA leader and member of DF Presidency, Andrija Mandic, from attending the ceremony of marking anniversary of the suffering of Serbs in the criminal Storm operation,” the party said.

On this occasion, Mandic had a phone conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. He emphasised that “discrimination and persecution of the Serbian people in Montenegro and assimilation attempt” was continued.

He added that he would not have had any problems had he received the invitation from Tirana or Zagreb.

“Mandic also told Vucic that Serbs in Montenegro are fully prepared to share the fate of the entire Serb people. Therefore, such minor, petty and miserable regime’s moves will not separate us from our people living in Serbia, the Serb Republic (a Bosnia-Herzegovina entity) and other Serbian historical areas,” the statement says.

According to the party, since Mandic received the invitation from Vucic and Serbian Patriarch Irinej, it is clear that this is a direct hostile message “sent by the Montenegrin puppet regime to Serbia, to the entire Serbian people and to its religious and political leaders”.

“By this shameful move, the Montenegrin regime sends a particularly monstrous message to thousands of Serbs expelled by Croatian extremists in August 1995. Accordingly, we can expect that a top representative of Montenegrin regime attends the extremist celebration of the Storm operation in Croatia. That may be some of the high-ranking converts, such as defence minister Predrag Boskovic, who would probably sing along with Tompson (Croatian nationalist singer Marko Perkovic Thompson),” the party added.

Nova accused the regime representatives of covering up their own past when they were “Serb patriots”, who were selling the last drop of oil to the Serb Republic armed forces and the Serb Republic of Krajina, and sending military and medical help to them.

“Then they suddenly moved to the side of those they fought against and were forced to become marionettes of NATO security forces,” the statement says.

The party added that Croatian military and para-military forces were supported by NATO in the Storm operation.
