Grey economy is our key deficit and we must make those who work illegally aware that they take away the future of our children , said the PM Duško Marković, today during the annual meeting with the businessmen.
Marković invited them to engage in the prevention of grey economy.
“Grey economy is devastating not only for the economic environment and business of your companies, but it also damages our man’s awareness. We, as a state, must show that such business is non-ethical, undignified and punishable by law”, said Marković.
He added that fight against grey economy required joint work of both the Government and the economy; laws can’t regulate everything.
“There’s no any valid reason for the tax burden on labor amounts 67%. There’s no such business plan that could be a reason for that. I could have chosen not to mention this fact but we’re the Government that speaks openly and we’re the people who don’t accept weaknesses. But we are also people who are obliged to find remedies for such weaknesses”, said Marković.
Simović: 2018 was a successful year
Deputy Prime Minister for the economic policy and financial system, Milutin Simović, said that 2018 had been the year of open conversation with the businessmen.
“Economic growth recorded this year is the best proof that we’re on a good way. Such positive results are, first and foremost, your results- of businessmen, miners, and all employees in the construction, tourism, energy sector, results of you, diligent householders, representatives of domestic and foreign investment community and public administration. We can already feel encouraged with the the laws that will have effects. Here, I mean primarily the Law on Administrative Taxes and the Utility Taxes Law. We should also amend the Law on Roads since there are still specific barriers to be eliminated. We’re communicating actively and responsibly with the EC regarding the Law on Labor”, said Simović.
He agreed that suppression of grey economy and unfair competition were among our priority objectives.
Simović said they would speed up the process of issuing work licences for foreigners . They will also improve the elements in many other fields. It will all be demanding but Montenegrin Government has the will and the strength to keep fighting.
