Media campaign of the presidential election mostly negative

 

During the elections campaign, Montenegrin media had 4.534 announcements, mostly being negative, showed the monitoring system of the Center for Civic Education.

Center for Civic Education presented today the final analyses of the media campaign monitoring of the elections held on April 15, conducted by Arhimed particularly for their needs.

„The total number of media announcements classified by type and by candidates has been monitored, as well as media representation of the candidates, dominant themes in the campaign, mutual attacks and critics of the presidential candidates and so on“, said Bojana Knežević, project assistant at Center for Civic education.

Željka Ćetković, collaborator in the projects, presented in-depth results of the media campaign monitoring.

„Total amount of announcements related to the theme „Presidential elections 2018“ was 4534, mostly published on portals (55,12%). Around 26.91 % falls on the printed media and, finally, 17, 98% goes on the electronic media.“, said Ćetković.

Milo Đukanović was dominant regarding the number of announcements since 2744 announcements referred to him.

The second part of the campaign was dedicated to the corruption/crime as well as to the economic and identity issues.

„Individually, Milo Đukanović mostly spoke about economy, identity, European integration, Mladen Bojanić was focused on crime and corruption whereas  Draginja Vuksanović  also referred to the social questions. Marko Milačić was the only one to bring NATO into the focus“, said Ćetković.
