While organizers of “Odupri se –  97 000” protest and Democratic Front have set up the discussion centered on the amount of money given for the organization, the escaped tycoon, Duško Knežević, said yesterday that he was going to spark his own protests.

While the representatives of DF claim to have given more than €12.000, as shows the table that went viral on social media networks, organizers of the protest posted a new table that shows different data.

How much do the protests cost?

“Organization of eight civil protest cost a total of €15.643, 9. Costs in the amount of €3.806,19 were covered by the organizers of the protest and around €2.000 haven’t been paid yet. The rest was paid by DF, Democratic Montenegro, Demos and URA”, it’s written on the Facebook page of this movement.

“So far, DF has paid €3.000 for the organization of the protest. Demos paid around €2.000 whereas URA paid €2.670. Socialist Democratic Party, Socialist People’s Party and Worker’s Party will give their financial support to protests in days to come. The agreement on the payment was reached on the basis of the representation of opposition parties in the Parliament of Montenegro. Every political party has the freedom to publish the amount of financial assistance it provided for its members”.

The fact that the data that “Odupri se” movement collected are different from the data in the table that CdM published yesterday, sparked a fierce discussion on Facebook about who is right and who is not.

Members of DF said in the comments to the organizers to “stop lying to the people”.

One of the replies of the movement reads as follows:

“We didn’t take into account the costs of what had been organized by parties themselves. This table doesn’t contain such data. If the majority thinks that should be included, we’ll gather all the necessary information in the forthcoming days and publish them. This is not the only table, anyway. Thank you for the suggestions”.

And while this discussion is on right now, Duško Knežević announced his own protests.

His movement, known as “Do slobode”, has announced the rally for the next Thursday, at 7 pm, in front of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica. According to their plans, he will address to the people via video link.
