Montenegrin armed forces are equipped with the most advanced light-armored vehicles

Mr Predrag Bošković, Defense Minister attended today the presentation of the new light-armored Oshkosh vehicles, together with U.S. Ambassador, Mrs Judy Rising Reinke and head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Major General, Dragutin Dakić.

“After this, nothing will ever be the same in Montenegro. Today’s ceremony indicates what we can do if we join forces with our partners in a transparent, efficient, and the best way for the interest of our state”, Mr Bošković stated and expressed gratitude to the American partners.

Five out of sixty-seven Oshkosh vehicles have arrived in Montenegro. Another 15 are set to arrive in the coming week.

“Vehicles will enable maneuver, protective abilities and completely different fire capacity of our infantry units, enabling them to practice, train and take part in the missions with our partners. That’s something we have been working on very hard”, Minister said.

Mrs Rising Reinke expressed gratitude as well and stated that Montenegro had become the first European country to operate Oshkosh vehicles.

“Montenegro is the first of all European NATO allies to acquire the world’s most advanced light-armored military vehicles. In the months ahead, Slovenia, Belgium, Lithuania and the UK will join Montenegro in operating these vehicles, allowing these countries to work together”, ambassador pointed out.

Montenegro and the USA signed the agreement on the acquisition of light-armored vehicles in October last year.
