It won’t be possible to further develop the Euro-integrations if there are no individuals responsible for providing administrative support to the completion of the accession process. Of course, the political will remains as the most important impetus for changes. No diffusion of responsibility must be allowed, Mr Tonino Picula, the European Parliament Rapporteur for Montenegro, says in an interview for Pobjeda daily.
Ex-chief of the Croatian diplomacy points out that the proposal of the French President, Emmanuel Macron, for the creation of the European political community, must not replace the existing enlargement policy of the EU.
On the new government in Montenegro and its first steps, Mr Picula says that “political commitment of various parties must increase in order for parliamentary democracy to become functional”. He also adds that “political parties must learn to express their positions within the institutionalised democratic procedures and refrain from every escalation of tensions”.
