Montenegrin soldiers showed they belong with EU armed forces

Montenegrin soldiers have shown they belong with colleagues from the armed forces of EU member states, it was said at the panel “The participation of the Montenegrin Armed Forces (VCG) in EU missions and operations”.

Representatives of the VCG, Milutin Milicic and Zoran Samardzic spoke today to the Podgorica high school students about the experiences of the EUTM mission in the Republic of Mali and the EU Operation NAVFOR Atalanta, in the waters of Somalia.

As announced by the Defence Ministry, Milicic emphasised that VCG had been participating in the EUTM mission in Mali since May 2014, with a logistical officer who is engaged as the head of the instructor logistics team training the African country’s troops.

Samardzic spoke about the significance of the EU NAVFOR Atalanta operation, which started in December 2008, primarily in the protection of United Nations ships distributing the necessary assistance to the impoverished Somalis population within the World Food Program.
