Montenegro expects grants worth 60 million EUR

At this year’s Summit of Prime Ministers, Montenegro expects grants of 60 million EUR worth for the purposes of the priority segment of the bypass in Budva and further investments in the railway sector. The majority of this amount would go on the infrastructure at the railroad Bar – Vrbnica.

State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Angelina Živković, pointed out the technical support that Montenegro is receiving from the EU funds – Investment Framework for the Western Balkans for raising awareness of the maturity of projects.

International financial corporation, as leading councilor of the Government of Montenegro, works on the analysis, assessment and modelling of the conditions for the affirmation and implementation of public and private partnership  at the airports in Montenegro.

Živković pointed out the contract on the transport community as a very significant step forward. This contract should bring to the region of Western Balkans faster transition and integration, harmonization with the acquis communautaire of the EU, higher level of investments in physical infrastructure and reforms, which would eventually facilitate trade and transport.
