It’s a real feat to get such a device and put it into service for our citizens, said the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, on the occasion of commissioning the most contemporary MR device, MR Skyra, Siemens production. It’s a device of the latest generation with technical possibilities of providing the most contemporary MR imaging. The price of the device amounts 1,4 million EUR.
Đukanović said that our society is faced with a challenge related to the improvement of quality of life. As he explained, these challenges refer to: healthcare protection, education and employment.
“What’s important is people’s trust. We had opportunities to ask ourselves whether the trust of people regarding healthcare system is at the appropriate level”, said Đukanović.
He believes that there’s space for improvement.
“If we want our children to stay here, if we want that these devices are used by people who were born here and who acquired knowledge here, if we want people to have trust in the expertise of the people who work here, then we have to ask ourselves if we can do more to make everything better, to improve the organization, if we can improve the healthcare system of Montenegro. Do we all recognize the importance of health protection?”, said Đukanović.
He added that “if we could make Aman, Regent, Porto Novi, then we should see if we are able to provide quality healthcare services”.
Branimir Vlahović, Director of the Center for Radiology Diagnostics, said that the strength of the device equals 3 Tesla. This device is supposed to bring the quality of examinations at higher level and reduce the number of patients who would be referred elsewhere.
