Montenegro has welcomed 40% more tourists compared to 2018

Pavle Radulović

There are currently 143,000 tourists on holiday in Montenegro, which is by 40 per cent more compared to the same period last year, the Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Mr Pavle Radulović, told Radio Montenegro.

By the end of the year, nearly 2.5 million tourists will visit Montenegro, claims the Minister, adding that this year’s revenues are going to exceed €1 billion.

So far, the State collected revenues amounting to over €7 million from city taxes, according to him.

Over 50 per cent of hotels in Montenegro, Minister Radulović added, has been categorized as 4-star or 5-star hotels, which best demonstrates the improvement in tourism offer.

He continued: “Noise, municipal disorder and traffic jams during the peak summer season represent major shortcomings of our tourism offer. The skilled labor shortage will be solved once the season in Montenegro lasts all year round.”
